Many organizations pursue multiple initiatives simultaneously:
digital transformation, AI adoption, sustainability goals, new market expansion.
Each initiative may be valuable. But when pursued independently, they can create fragmentation.
Coherence means ensuring that these efforts reinforce each other rather than compete.
AI plays a powerful role here.
Because it touches operations, analytics, customer experience, and internal decision-making, AI initiatives can either connect organizational priorities—or amplify fragmentation.
Leaders who approach AI strategically will ask:
How does this initiative reinforce our long-term direction?
Does this automation strengthen our identity or dilute it?
Are our investments converging toward a coherent future?
In the coming years, coherence may become the rarest capability of all.
And the organizations that achieve it will be extraordinarily difficult to compete against.
